We are a leading company in the manufacture of Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) making some of the world’s best loved brands like Gillette, Fairy and Oral. Here at our Manchester Plant, we are currently looking to recruit a highly motivated, flexible electrical and instrumentation technician to join our Pampers manufacturing team.The plant operates 24 hours a day and individuals would be required to work a 12.5-hour shift pattern including days and nights.

As an E&I Technician, you will be responsible for:

The maintenance of electrical equipment and troubleshooting circuit problems including to install, rebuild, commission or repair electrical equipment as needed. Whilst on shift you will be required to assist with all service calls.

Working closely within the operating area you’re assigned to, providing insights into the work team to ensure that business goals are achieved. Proactively assisting operations technicians in troubleshooting and emergency repairs as well as to support and learn Mechanical Maintenance skills and tasks as necessary.

Safety is a priority at P&G. You will be responsible for your personal safety as well as assisting where you can with the safety of other team members and contractors. This includes, ensuring all safety rules and safe work procedures are followed, reporting near misses and maintaining housekeeping.

Productivity and Reliability: you will need to safely troubleshoot issues by reading logic in PLCs and other control equipment, use diagnostic equipment and troubleshoot issues related to production machine coordinated drives. You will also need to maintain the SAP Plan Maintenance System, including following all computer based and paper processes for work order completion and documentation.

What We Offer You:

Competitive Salary: a starting rate of £767.67 per week basic pay. Additionally, you will receive a weekly specialist premium of £92.31 as well as £98 per week for shift premium.

Generous Pension: The Company will contribute double the amount you contribute towards your pension savings, up to a maximum company contribution of 14% of your pensionable pay.

Annual Leave: You will start with 25 days' annual leave entitlement (plus bank holidays), increasing with length of service up to 30 days.

1-4-1 Shares: For every share that you purchase, the Company will purchase a share on your behalf. You can contribute up to 2.5% of your salary into the 1-4-1 Share Plan, up to a maximum of £150 a month.

Private Medical Insurance: Our Private Medical Insurance Plan, currently delivered by AXA Health, provides eligible employees with access to private medical treatment, if they wish. Eligible employees can request for their partner and / or eligible dependent children to be included on their cover.

Have a minimum time-served apprenticeship in an Electrical discipline to HNC/NVQ-3/NQF3.
