Job summary

Hunter Selection Ltd in Newport is seeking an Electrical/Instrumentation Engineer to provide maintenance support across a global operations team. You will diagnose faults, install and service 415V motors and control gear, and calibrate instrumentation to ensure optimal uptime and safety.

The role involves installing and commissioning safety and measurement systems, maintaining hazardous area equipment per DSEAR, and performing routine electrical installations and cable management.

Qualifications

• Time served qualification in electrical/instrument discipline is required.
• Experience in fault finding is required.
• SAP experience would be beneficial.
• Beamex CMX software for calibrations is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Respond to plant breakdowns to diagnose and resolve faults (instrumentation or electrical).
• Install and maintain 415V AC motors and control equipment.
• Install, commission and maintain safety, control and measurement systems incl. level, pressure, temperature.
• Carry out calibration and maintenance of instrumentation and control systems per procedures.
• Maintain hazardous area equipment in line with DSEAR regulations.
• Perform general electrical installation work including lighting and cable management.

Reporting to the E/I Supervisor you will support the site maintenance effort carrying out typical maintenance activities including:

• Responding to plant breakdowns as required to diagnose and resolve faults of an instrumentation or electrical nature.
• Installation and maintenance of 415V AC motors and associated control equipment.
• Installing, commissioning, and maintaining safety, control, and measurement systems. Level, pressure and temperature measurements etc.
• Carry out calibration and maintenance of instrumentation and control systems as per procedural documentation.
• Maintenance of hazardous area equipment inline with the DSEAR regulations.
• General electrical installation work including lighting and cable management.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

• Will possess a time served qualification in an electrical/instrument discipline.
• Will have experience in fault finding
• Previous experience using SAP would be beneficial
• Beamex CMX software to carry out and record instrument calibrations is desirable
