Job summary

Eastman is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support site maintenance activities. You will diagnose and repair faults in electrical/instrument systems, install and calibrate equipment, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

The role requires a time-served qualification and ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Based in Newport, you will work on 415V AC motors, safety and control systems, and contribute to maintenance planning using SAP and Beamex CMX.

Qualifications

• Must hold a time-served qualification in electrical/instrument discipline.
• Demonstrated fault-finding ability using a systematic approach.
• Flexible to changing priorities and able to work independently or in a team.
• Strong emphasis on safety and quality in all tasks.
• Experience with SAP to manage maintenance history and equipment records.
• Knowledge of Beamex CMX software for instrument calibrations.
• Able to read site electrical and control drawings and update drawings when required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office for administrative tasks.

Responsibilities

• Respond to plant breakdowns and diagnose faults of electrical or instrumentation nature.
• Install and maintain 415V AC motors and associated control equipment.
• Install, commission and maintain safety, control and measurement systems (level, pressure, temperature).
• Carry out calibration and maintenance of instrumentation and control systems per procedures.
• Maintain hazardous area equipment in line with DSEAR regulations.
• General electrical installation work including lighting and cable management.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the E/I Supervisor you will support the site maintenance effort carrying out typical maintenance activities including –

• Responding to plant breakdowns as required to diagnose and resolve faults of an instrumentation or electrical nature.
• Installation and maintenance of 415V AC motors and associated control equipment.
• Installing, commissioning, and maintainingsafety, control, and measurement systems.Level, pressure and temperature measurements etc
• Carry out calibration and maintenance of instrumentation and control systems as per procedural documentation.
• Maintenance of hazardous area equipment inline with the DSEAR regulations.
• General electrical installation work including lighting and cable management.

• Will possess a time served qualification in a electrical/instrument discipline.
• Will have experience in fault finding using a systematic approach to get to route cause efficiently and effectively.
• Will have a flexible approach to changing priorities.
• Will be capable of working alone or effectively as part of a team.
• Will be able to perform critical tasks within specified time constraints and schedules.
• Will understand and correctly use the following systems:
• SAP to complete assigned maintenance, review and update equipment history
• Beamex CMX software to carry out and record instrument calibrations
• Drawing database to access, understand and update site electrical and control drawings when required
• Microsoft office for general administrative tasks
