Job summary

The role involves fault finding, calibration, and the maintenance of motors, drives, and process control systems, with emphasis on working safely in potentially hazardous areas.

Qualifications

• Time-served apprenticeship or recognised qualification in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, or a related discipline.
• Experience in manufacturing, chemical, process, industrial or heavy engineering environments.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.

Responsibilities

• Respond to breakdowns and fault-find on electrical and instrumentation systems.
• Install, maintain, and repair motors, drives and associated control equipment.
• Support commissioning, calibration and maintenance of process control and measurement systems.
• Work on safety-critical equipment including pressure, temperature, and level instrumentation.
• Maintain hazardous area equipment in line with industry regulations and site procedures.
• Complete planned preventative maintenance activities and update maintenance records.
• Contribute to continuous improvement projects aimed at improving plant reliability and efficiency.

Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer – Cardiff – £47,500

What You'll Do:

Key responsibilities will include:

• Responding to breakdowns and carrying out fault finding on electrical and instrumentation systems.
• Installing, maintaining, and repairing motors, drives and associated control equipment.
• Supporting the commissioning, calibration and maintenance of process control and measurement systems.
• Working on safety-critical equipment including pressure, temperature, and level instrumentation.
