Job summary

Hunter Selection is seeking an E&I Technician for a days-based role in Newport. The package includes £44,000–£50,000 plus excellent benefits and a supportive engineering team focused on minimal downtime and peak performance.

You will work under the E/I Supervisor, performing maintenance, calibration, and installation tasks on 415V systems, with a strong emphasis on safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Time served qualification in electrical/instrument discipline.
• Experience in fault finding.
• Experience using SAP would be beneficial.
• Beamex CMX software to carry out and record instrument calibrations is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Respond to plant breakdowns as required to diagnose and resolve faults of an instrumentation or electrical nature.
• Installation and maintenance of 415V AC motors and associated control equipment.
• Installing, commissioning, and maintaining safety, control, and measurement systems. Level, pressure and temperature measurements etc.
• Carry out calibration and maintenance of instrumentation and control systems as per procedural documentation.
• Maintenance of hazardous area equipment inline with the DSEAR regulations.
• General electrical installation work including lighting and cable management.
