Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting an Electrical Installations Technician for the Cambridge and Huntingdon campuses. The role is full-time with a salary between £25,192 and £27,152 per annum and benefits.

The post involves providing high-quality technical support to learning programmes, preparing workshops and equipment, and assisting teaching staff in practical sessions and assessments. Location: Cambridge campus with occasional travel to Huntingdon.

Qualifications

• At least one year’s relevant trade experience in an electrical environment.
• Up-to-date knowledge of Health & Safety requirements relating to Electrical Installations.
• Good interpersonal, administrative and communication skills.
• Well organised with ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and carry out basic repairs to equipment within workshops and training areas.
• Prepare and set up equipment, tools, materials and assessment areas for practical sessions and demonstrations.
• Provide practical support to teaching staff during workshop sessions, demonstrations and assessments.
• Help maintain a safe, organised working environment with strong health and safety practices.
• Support development and preparation of practical activities for learning programmes.
• Contribute to team meetings and ongoing development of the Electrical Installations provision.
