Job summary

The South Hampshire College Group is seeking an experienced Electrical Installation educator to deliver both theory and practical sessions for Levels 1-3. You will plan, assess, and mark learning, while providing tutorials and pastoral support to learners.

The role also involves acting as Course Leader, ensuring delivery quality, and coordinating work placements with employers. Applicants should hold a Level 5 teaching qualification (or commit to achieving it), an NVQ Level 3 in Electrical

Qualifications

• GCSE Grade 4/C or equivalent Level 2 in Maths and English.
• Level 3 NVQ in Electrical Installation.
• Electrical ECS Gold Card / AM2 Certificate.
• Level 5 Teaching qualification (or commitment to achieving).
• Assessor and Moderator/IQA Award.
• Latest amendment of 18th edition.

Responsibilities

• Deliver teaching across Electrical Installation, including theory, practical skills, inspection & testing, fault diagnosis and design.
• Plan, prepare and assess learning, including marking, feedback, tutorials and pastoral support.
• Act as Course Leader for designated programmes, overseeing delivery, assessment schedules, quality processes and student progress.
• Support learner progression towards full occupational competence and successful End Point Assessment.
• Maintain accurate records including attendance, performance, destinations and awarding.
• Organise work placements and liaise with employers, parents/carers and external bodies.
• Contribute to curriculum development, quality assurance, self-assessment and continuous improvement.
• Participate in college events such as open evenings, careers events and school liaison.
• Maintain professional competence through CPD, appraisal, and participation in teaching observations.
