Zusammenfassung

Colchester Institute seeks a lecturer and course leader in the Mechanical and Electrical Services team to teach and assess electrical installation learners and apprentices, track progress, and monitor quality.

The role can be full-time or part-time for experienced electricians, with training provided for those new to teaching and an enhanced DBS check required. You will lead on assessing and driving course standards and work closely with schools and employers.

Qualifikationen

• Level 3 Electrical Installation qualification (or equivalent: NVQ and AM2).
• Teaching qualification or willingness to complete within 3 years.
• TAQA Assessor Award or willingness to achieve it in post.
• IQA Level 4 Award or willingness to achieve it in post.
• Enhanced DBS check is required.
• Substantial hands-on experience as a practising electrician.
• Real-world expertise in the electrical trade.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of learners.

Aufgaben

• Deliver teaching, learning and assessment in electrical installation.
• Mark learner work, design assessments and learning materials.
• Monitor learner standards against awarding body requirements with the Assistant Area Head.
• Use e-portfolios to track learner progress and keep digital records.
• Provide academic and pastoral support through Individual Learning Plans.
• Work with apprentices through their training and assessment.
• Manage allocated units and meet programme requirements for learner groups.
• Support the Assistant Area Head in delivering electrical installation standards.
• Promote electrical installation courses through schools, open evenings and marketing events.
• Engage employers to arrange work experience, talks, live projects and enrichment.
• Contribute to quality monitoring, action planning and continuous improvement.
• Mentor colleagues and participate in evaluation and reporting.
