Bath College is seeking an enthusiastic Electrical Installation Lecturer to join the Construction and Building Services team. You will deliver high-quality teaching across Level 1 to Level 3 Electrical Installation programmes, developing learners’ technical skills, industry knowledge and professional behaviours for successful careers in the electrical sector.

Qualifications

• Qualified in Electrical Installation Level 3 or higher with current regs knowledge.
• Recent or current experience in electrical sector.
• Teaching, mentoring, or assessing learners is desirable.
• Teaching qualification (PGCE/Cert Ed/DTLLS or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Electrical Installation lessons across Levels 1–3.
• Teach practical workshops and theory sessions.
• Plan, prepare and assess learning according to awarding bodies.
• Monitor student progress and provide feedback.
• Prepare learners for City & Guilds qualifications.
• Maintain high health and safety standards in workshops.
• Contribute to curriculum development and improvements.

The Role

As an Electrical Installation Lecturer, you will deliver high-quality teaching and learning across Level 1 to Level 3 Electrical Installation programmes. You will support learners in developing the technical skills, industry knowledge, and professional behaviours required for successful careers within the electrical sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and effective Electrical Installation lessons across Levels 1-3.
• Teach both practical workshop sessions and classroom-based theory.
• Plan, prepare, and assess learning in line with awarding body requirements.
• Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback and support.
• Prepare learners for City & Guilds qualifications and industry expectations.
• Promote high standards of health and safety within the workshop environment.
• Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Level 3 qualification (or above) in Electrical Installation.
• Current or recent industry experience within the electrical sector.
• Knowledge of current electrical regulations and industry practices.
• Experience teaching, training, mentoring, or assessing apprentices and learners is desirable.
• Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS, or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.
• Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
