Job summary

Colchester Institute is seeking an Electrical Installation Lecturer to join our Mechanical and Electrical Services team. You will deliver high-quality teaching and support learners on their educational journey.

Design assessments, monitor progress, and provide academic and pastoral guidance. You will collaborate with colleagues and engage employers to provide work placements and industry insights.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Level 3 Electrical Installation qualification (or equivalent) including NVQ/AM2.
• Teaching qualification or willingness to obtain one.
• Assessor Award (TAQA) or willingness to achieve in post.
• IQA Level 4 Award or willingness to achieve in post.
• Education to level 3 or above in a relevant subject area.
• Level 2 English and Mathematics GCSE 4+ or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and effective teaching, learning, and assessment in Electrical Installation.
• Design assessments and create learning materials to enhance student engagement.
• Monitor and evaluate learner progress to meet awarding body requirements.
• Provide academic and pastoral support through Individual Learning Plans.
• Collaborate with colleagues to promote Electrical Installation courses via outreach.
• Engage with employers to facilitate work experience and industry insights.

Experience Requirements:

• Substantial industry experience in Electrical Installation.
• Experience in teaching or training is desirable but not essential; full training will be provided.
