Job summary
Proactive Global is seeking an Electrical Installation Engineer to join a busy engineering team delivering industrial automation and conveyor solutions in Wigan. The role mixes workshop prep with on-site installation and requires hands-on experience with control panels and electrical systems.
The position offers a 50/50 split between workshop and sitework, with a salary up to £45,000 plus 20% overtime, and accommodation provided for distant sites.
Qualifications
- Strong experience as an Electrical Installation Engineer.
- Proven knowledge of control panels and their operation.
- Experience working with conveyor systems.
- Ability to work independently on-site and in the workshop.
- Willingness to travel regularly.
- Desirable: FMCG or industrial automation experience.
- Familiarity with commissioning industrial automation systems.
Responsibilities
- Preparing electrical systems, panels, and equipment in the workshop prior to installation
- Installing control panels and electrical systems on customer sites
- Working with conveyor and material handling systems
- Reading and interpreting electrical drawings and schematics
- Supporting commissioning activities and ensuring installations are delivered to specification
- Liaising with engineering and controls teams to ensure smooth project delivery
- Travel to customer sites, approximately 50% of the role
