Job summary

Proactive Global is seeking an Electrical Installation Engineer to join a busy engineering team delivering industrial automation and conveyor solutions in Wigan. The role mixes workshop prep with on-site installation and requires hands-on experience with control panels and electrical systems.

The position offers a 50/50 split between workshop and sitework, with a salary up to £45,000 plus 20% overtime, and accommodation provided for distant sites.

Qualifications

• Strong experience as an Electrical Installation Engineer.
• Proven knowledge of control panels and their operation.
• Experience working with conveyor systems.
• Ability to work independently on-site and in the workshop.
• Willingness to travel regularly.
• Desirable: FMCG or industrial automation experience.
• Familiarity with commissioning industrial automation systems.

Responsibilities

• Preparing electrical systems, panels, and equipment in the workshop prior to installation
• Installing control panels and electrical systems on customer sites
• Working with conveyor and material handling systems
• Reading and interpreting electrical drawings and schematics
• Supporting commissioning activities and ensuring installations are delivered to specification
• Liaising with engineering and controls teams to ensure smooth project delivery
• Travel to customer sites, approximately 50% of the role

Electrical Installation Engineer

Wigan

Up to £45K per annum plus 20% Overtime

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Installation Engineer to join a busy engineering team delivering industrial automation and conveyor solutions. This role is a mix of workshop preparation and on-site installation, ideal for hands-on engineers who understand control panels inside out and enjoy working on real industrial systems.

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Working Hours & Location

The role offers a 50/50 split between workshop-based work and on-site installations.

Workshop Hours

• Monday to Thursday: 08:00-17:00
• Friday: 08:00-13:00

On-Site Hours

• 08:00-18:00

Travel & Accommodation

Accommodation will be provided when working on sites that are further away from home.
