Job summary

Lawler Consulting is seeking an experienced Electrical Infrastructure Engineer for an 18-month contract to deliver electrical and communications infrastructure for a major new village development in Scotland. Responsibilities include designing 33kV and 11kV distribution networks, coordinating ICT infrastructure, and collaborating with various stakeholders. Ideal candidates will have substantial experience in electrical engineering, DNO liaison, and large-scale infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• Qualified in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Experience designing 33kV / 11kV networks and substations.
• Proven DNO liaison experience with SPEN or SSEN.
• Experience in coordinating ICT and communication infrastructure.
• Background in large-scale infrastructure developments.

Responsibilities

• Design 33kV and 11kV distribution networks.
• Create designs for primary and secondary substations.
• Coordinate LV distribution network.
• Develop ICT and communications infrastructure designs.
• Align duct and chamber layouts with Openreach.
• Collaborate with SPEN and SSEN.
• Produce technical submissions and reports.
• Provide support during construction and commissioning.

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Infrastructure Engineer to support the delivery of electrical and communications infrastructure for a major new village development in Scotland. This is an 18-month contract appointment, aligned with the infrastructure design and delivery programme.

Contract

Scope of Services

• Design of 33kV and 11kV distribution networks.
• Design of primary and secondary substations and transformers.
• LV distribution network coordination.
• ICT and communications infrastructure design.
• Openreach-aligned duct and chamber layouts.
• Coordination with SPEN and SSEN.
• Technical submissions, drawings, and reports.
• Support through construction and commissioning.

Regulatory Context

• Electricity Safety, Quality and Continuity Regulations (ESQCR).
• BS 7671 - IET Wiring Regulations.
• ENA Engineering Recommendations (including G81, G12).
• SPEN / SSEN technical standards.
