Job summary

Mitie Group plc. is seeking an Electrical Site Engineer for major projects in Scotland. The role delivers electrical elements from design handover to construction, with hybrid working and occasional travel across Scotland and the North of England.

You will bring a strong electrical background in DNO/IDNO/ICP, NEC/FIDIC contracts experience, and hold SAP LV & HV qualifications. The position offers a base salary of £75-80k plus package, including private medical.

Qualifications

• Must have HND or degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years in relevant construction projects with earthing.
• Experience with NEC or FIDIC standard contracts.
• Qualified as SAP LV & HV.

Responsibilities

• Manage the electrical element on a portfolio of construction projects from design handover to construction completion, including cable testing and commissioning assistance.
• Provide technical support to the Construction Supervisor and Project Manager.
• Chair project technical meetings with design and operations team, including DNO and client technical advisors.
• Review the project during the design process to ensure readiness for handover to construction team.
• Assist the Project Manager to maintain the delivery programme and timescales.
• Ensure all electrical works comply with DNO G81, BS standards and client requirements.
• Determine labour and resource requirements and assist with tender technical scope.
• Deliver projects to exceed client expectations.

Electrical Site Engineer (Major Projects - Scotland)

Salary: Base Salary Of £75-80,000k + Package, Including Private Medical.

Location: Scotland, hybrid working (must hold a Full UK driving licence required due to some travel requirements)

Job Overview

The Electrical Engineer will have a strong electrical background in the DNO, IDNO or ICP industry with experience within the renewable or embedded generation sector. They will have industry authorisations with the supporting qualifications and experience. The role itself will support delivery of a portfolio of construction projects in Scotland and Northern England providing technical assistance to the project team.

Main Duties

• To effectively manage the electrical element on a portfolio of construction projects from design handover to construction completion, including all associated cable testing and commissioning assistance.
• Provide technical support to the Construction Supervisor and Project Manager.
• Chair project technical meetings with the design and operations team, including DNO and client technical advisors.
• Review the project throughout the design process and ensure its ready for handover to construction team.
• Assist the Project Manager to ensure delivery programme is managed and maintained for each project, ensuring a logical and efficient approach is established, meeting the accepted timescales.
• Ensure all electrical works are complainant with the relevant DNO G81, BS standards and clients ER`s
• Determine labour & resource requirements for the project and assist the Project manager and commercial team with technical scope for the tenders.
• Ensure projects are delivered to exceed the client's expectations.

What We Are Looking For

• HND or degree level education in electrical engineering or equivalent experience
• 5 years working in relevant and similar construction projects consisting of earthing
• Have worked under standard construction contracts e.g. NEC. FIDDIC etc
• Qualified as SAP LV & HV
