Job summary

Robert Hurst Limited is seeking an experienced Approved Electrical Improver to install containment systems and wire fire detection and alarm systems on a secure prison site. You will read drawings, follow BS7671, and maintain safety standards in a custodial environment.

Candidates must have an Approved Electrical qualification, ECSCard, EL1 clearance and DBS certificate, with proven experience in containment and alarm wiring. Own tools and PPE are required.

Qualifications

• Experience installing containment systems and wiring fire detection/alarm systems.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team; strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Own tools and appropriate PPE are mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Install electrical containment systems including tray, basket, conduit and trunking.
• Wiring and installing fire detection and alarm systems.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications.
• Ensure all work meets BS7671 Wiring Regulations.
• Maintain a safe working environment and follow site health and safety procedures.
• Work within a secure custodial environment following prison security protocols.
• Liaise with site management and other trades to keep work on programme.
