Job summary

Robert Hurst Limited is recruiting an experienced Approved Electrician Improver to carry out electrical installation works on a secure prison establishment. You will install containment systems, wire fire detection and alarm systems, read drawings, and ensure compliance with BS7671 while maintaining safety and security protocols.

This role requires EL2 clearance, an Enhanced DBS certificate, and the ability to work independently or in a team within a custodial setting.

Qualifications

• Reading and interpreting electrical drawings and specifications.
• Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with current BS7671 Wiring Regulations.
• Maintaining a safe working environment and complying with all site health and safety procedures.

Essential Requirements

• Approved Electrician qualification

Desirable

• Previous experience working within prisons, secure environments, MOD or similar high-security sites.
• Experience with addressable fire alarm systems.
• IPAF and PASMA qualifications (advantageous).

Security Requirements

Due to the nature of the project, all applicants must hold current EL2 Clearance and an Enhanced DBS Certificate before commencing work. Candidates will also be required to comply with all prison security and induction procedures.
