Job summary

Mane Contract Services seeks a skilled support electrician to assist qualified electricians with installation, maintenance and repair tasks in an industrial FMCG facility. You will work on production machinery, electrical containment systems and plant equipment, ensuring safe, high-quality workmanship and ongoing skills development.

Role involves reading basic electrical drawings, following instructions, and working 07:00am–17:00pm with compliance to site safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive electrical maintenance.
• Ability to assist with diagnosis and repair of faults on production machinery and electrical systems.
• Familiarity with installation and maintenance of industrial electrical containment systems.
• Ability to read and understand basic electrical drawings and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Assist qualified electricians with PPM and reactive maintenance.
• Support diagnosis and repair of faults on production machinery and packaging lines.
• Assist with installation/maintenance of containment: tray, basket, trunking, conduit and cable ladder.
• Assist with routing, glanding, terminating and identifying power and control cables under supervision.
• Assist with installation/maintenance of distribution boards, control panels, motors and sensors.
• Support electricians with equipment upgrades and new plant installation.
• Assist with testing and inspection of electrical installations as directed.
• Read and understand basic electrical drawings and schematics.

Job description

To support qualified electricians and the engineering team with electrical installation, maintenance, testing and repair activities within an industrial FMCG manufacturing facility. The role involves working alongside experienced electricians on production machinery, electrical systems, containment and associated plant. The successful candidate will be expected to work safely, follow instructions, maintain a high standard of workmanship and develop their industrial electrical skills and experience within a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist qualified electricians with planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive electrical maintenance.
• Support the diagnosis and repair of electrical faults on production machinery, processing equipment, packaging lines and associated plant.
• Assist with the installation and maintenance of industrial electrical containment systems, including tray, basket, trunking, conduit and cable ladder.
• Assist with the installation, routing, glanding, terminating and identification of power and control cables under appropriate supervision.
• Assist with the installation and maintenance of electrical equipment, including distribution boards, control panels, motors, sensors, switches and associated accessories.
• Support electricians with electrical modifications, equipment upgrades and installation of new plant and machinery.
• Assist with the testing and inspection of electrical installations and equipment as directed by qualified electricians.
• Read and understand basic electrical drawings, schematics

Due to the nature of this project, applicants MUST have a valid IPAF 3a 3b as majoity of the work will be carried out from a MEWP.

Working Hours: 07:00am - 17:00pm (10 hours paid)
