Electrical Highways Engineer
Meridian is working with a leading Transport Engineering company specializing in all aspects of Highways Engineering. They are expanding their team of Service Engineers and are seeking an additional Electrical Highways Engineer to join their team. This role focuses on London and surrounding areas, involving maintenance and installation of Traffic Management equipment in locations such as the M25 South, A1, M11, East London, Dartford, M23, M20, and A3. Responsibilities:
- Fault-finding, servicing, repairing, and maintaining static highway technology, including vehicle-mounted Traffic Management equipment and trailers, on customer sites and highways
- Perform electrical and mechanical works, including maintenance, remedial work, and data cabling installation
- Complete preventative maintenance and field modifications as required
- Test and inspect equipment, documenting results accurately
- Understand and communicate RAMS, adhering to health & safety policies
- Manage administrative responsibilities efficiently
- Maintain work vehicle, ensuring it is well-equipped and in good condition
- Provide excellent customer service and communication
- Coordinate effectively with internal teams and management to ensure project progress and identify additional opportunities
Experience, Qualifications, and Skills:
- Experience in electrical maintenance and installation, preferably within Traffic Management systems
- Highway Engineering experience is highly desirable
- Experience with technology, data, communications, cabling, wiring, and repairs
- Ability to interpret circuit diagrams and assembly drawings
- Gold JIB Electrician card
- NVQ Level 3 or higher
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
- Basic knowledge of communication networks, GPRS, Copper & Fibre Optic cabling
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Effective communication with colleagues and clients
- SSSTS or SMSTS (preferred)
- IPAF (preferred)
