Job summary

Astute is seeking an Electrical Generator Engineer near Sheffield with nationwide travel. You will install, service and troubleshoot diesel and gas generators, maintaining documentation and performing site surveys. A full UK driving licence and proactive, hands-on approach are required.

Qualifications

• Time-served or apprentice-trained electrical skillset for industrial equipment.
• 1+ years' experience in generator installation, maintenance and fault finding.
• Knowledge of diesel and gas generator systems, control panels and switchgear is a plus.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics.

Responsibilities

• Carry out generator installations from delivery to sign-off.
• Service diesel and gas generators (major and minor).
• Perform load bank testing to verify performance.
• Deliver diesel fuel to site using a road tow bowser.
• Troubleshoot and repair faults in mechanical, electrical and control systems.
• Maintain repair orders and service documentation.
• Conduct site surveys and inspections of generator equipment.
