Electrical Fitter

Electrical Fitter - Bradford - £28,000 - £30,000

The Job

We are looking for an Electrical Fitter to join an established engineering and manufacturing business. This is a hands on role involving the fitting, assembly, wiring and testing of electrical equipment and control systems, working from engineering drawings and electrical schematics.

Key Responsibilities

• Assemble and fit electrical equipment, components and control systems
• Carry out electrical wiring and installation work to engineering drawings and specifications
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and technical drawings
• Install cables, terminals, control devices and other electrical components
• Carry out inspection, testing and basic fault-finding on completed assemblies
• Check work to ensure it meets required quality, safety and engineering standards
• Identify and report any issues with components, materials, drawings or assembly
• Complete production paperwork and documentation accurately while maintaining a clean and safe working area

The Candidate

• Previous experience in electrical fitting, electrical assembly, panel wiring or a similar engineering/manufacturing environment
• Confident working from electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and engineering drawings
• Strong practical and technical ability, with good attention to detail and a methodical approach to electrical assembly
• A good understanding of electrical principles, safe working practices, testing and basic fault-finding
• Reliable and organised, with the ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a wider engineering or production team
• An electrical qualification, apprenticeship or relevant technical training would be advantageous, although relevant hands-on experience will be considered
