Job summary

Clear Engineering Recruitment is seeking an experienced Electrical Service Engineer for Northern Ireland. The role covers service, maintenance, repair of diesel generators, and control systems across NI, with on-site and remote fault finding and occasional travel across Ireland.

You will diagnose faults, read drawings, and participate in an on-call rota. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of electrical experience, ONC/D or equivalent, and hands-on familiarity with generator controls such as ComAp

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience as a time-served electrical technician/electrician.
• Experience with generator controls (ComAp and/or Deep Sea).
• Strong industrial electrical fault-finding experience.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair diesel generators and ancillary equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical faults, including control panels to component level.
• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance.
• Interrogate and program generator controllers (ComAp/Deep Sea).
• Read and interpret electrical drawings.

• Occasional travel across Ireland, including overnight stays.

Hours: 39 hours per week

We're looking for an experienced Electrical Service Engineer to join a specialist service team working on diesel generators and associated electrical control systems across Northern Ireland.

The Role:

• Service, maintain and repair diesel generators and ancillary equipment
• Diagnose and resolve electrical faults, including control panels to component level
• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance
• Interrogate and program ComAp and Deep Sea generator controllers
• Read and interpret electrical drawings
• Support generator control system upgrades and new installations

What We're Looking For:

• ONC/D, City & Guilds or equivalent in Electrical Engineering
• Time-served electrical technician/electrician with 3+ years' experience
• Strong industrial electrical fault-finding experience
• Experience with generator controls, ComAp and/or Deep Sea
• Full UK driving licence
• Strong customer-facing and communication skills
• Flexible approach to weekend and out-of-hours work

Desirable:

• JIB/SparkSafe or recognised electrical certification
• CSR card / H&S qualification
• Diesel or gas engine experience
• Previous generator service/maintenance experience
