Job summary

Elevation Recruitment Group are recruiting for a Senior Estimator to join an established engineering and manufacturing business based in Alfreton, Derbyshire.

Prepare accurate quotations for bespoke low-voltage switchgear and control panels, analysing drawings, BOMs and customer requirements to produce competitive estimates. You will liaise with engineering, manufacturing and commercial teams, assess risks, and support the estimating function.

Qualifications

• Experience in electrical estimating for low-voltage switchgear or control panels.
• Strong understanding of electrical components, drawings and BOMs.
• Experience preparing detailed cost estimates for engineered/bespoke products.
• Ability to interpret customer requirements and work with engineering/manufacturing teams.
• Strong numerical, analytical and organisational skills with a commercial focus.
• Knowledge of metering or PLCs is advantageous.
• A DBS check is essential for this position.

Senior Estimator

Elevation Recruitment Group are recruiting for a Senior Estimator to join an established engineering and manufacturing business based in Alfreton.

This is an opportunity to join a specialist business designing, manufacturing and installing bespoke low-voltage electrical switchgear and control panels for a range of customers. Due to continued business activity, the company is looking to strengthen its estimating team with an additional Senior Estimator who can bring strong technical knowledge and commercial awareness.

As the Senior Estimator, you will:

• Prepare accurate and competitive quotations for bespoke low-voltage switchgear, electrical panels and associated installation and service works.
• Review customer enquiries, technical specifications, drawings and bills of materials to establish project requirements and costs.
• Calculate material, labour, manufacturing and installation costs to produce detailed estimates and commercial proposals.
• Liaise with suppliers and internal engineering, manufacturing and sales teams to obtain pricing, clarify technical requirements and ensure quotations are accurate.
• Assess project scope, identify potential commercial risks and opportunities, and ensure estimates reflect the technical and operational requirements of each project.
• Support the wider estimating team, sharing technical knowledge and contributing to consistent estimating processes and standards.

To be considered for the Senior Estimator role, you will need:

• Previous experience in an electrical estimating role, ideally within low-voltage switchgear, control panels or a related electrical engineering environment.
• A strong understanding of electrical components, technical drawings, specifications and bills of materials.
• Experience preparing detailed cost estimates and quotations for engineered or bespoke products.
• The ability to interpret customer requirements and work closely with engineering, manufacturing and commercial teams.
• Strong numerical, analytical and organisational skills, with a commercially focused approach.
• Knowledge of metering, PLCs would be advantageous.
• A valid DBS check is essential for this position.
