Job summary

Electrical Estimator role in Peterborough. A leading M&E contractor seeks an experienced estimator to drive tender profitability across commercial, retail and industrial sectors. You will analyse drawings, prepare accurate tenders from £10,000 to £1M, and liaise with clients to price variations.

Role requires reviewing designs, updating cost databases and delivering competitive bids while meeting deadlines. Salary £50,000-£55,000 plus company vehicle and holidays.

Qualifications

• Wide knowledge of commercial/industrial electrical systems and installation methods.
• Experience as electrical estimator in similar environments including design and build.
• Contract drawings knowledge.
• Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines while managing multiple tenders.
• Ability to plan, co-ordinate and prioritise tenders.
• Confident communicator.
• Strong negotiation skills.
• NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installations or equivalent.

• Liaise with clients and project teams to assess, price and prepare variations as required, providing ongoing support throughout the project.
• Maintaining and updating cost databases to reflect current market trends, material prices and labour costs ensuring accuracy and competitiveness.

A leading M&E Contractor based in Peterborough is looking to strengthen their pre-construction team with an experienced and commercially focused Electrical Estimator.

They provide M&E services to a wide range of clients and businesses across a diverse range of sectors including commercial, retail and industrial. These projects are typically valued between £10,000 to £1M.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and submitting accurate and competitive electrical tenders from £10,000 to £1M.
• Review and interpret contract design and construction drawings.
• Analyse documents, scope of works, material and time calculations for electrical installations.
• Assess project profitability and suggest ways to improve efficiency and cost effectiveness.

Qualifications and experience

• Overall knowledge and understanding of a wide variety of commercial and industrial electrical systems and their installation methods.
• Proven experience of working as an electrical estimator within a similar environment including electrical installations and design and build projects.
• Knowledge and understanding of the contract design and construction drawings.
• The ability to work under pressure to meet set deadlines whilst managing multiple tenders.
• The ability to plan, co-ordinate and prioritise tenders.
• Confident communicator.
• Strong negotiation skills.
• NVQ City & Guilds Level 3 in Electrical Installations (or equivalent).
