Job summary

Jark PLC in Chelmsford, Essex is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join its commercial M&E team on a range of tendered projects up to £6m. The role focuses on producing competitive, accurate tenders, take-offs and bills of quantities for commercial schemes.

With 2+ years of estimating experience, you will liaise with suppliers, subcontractors and clients, support pre-construction activities and help handover completed projects to delivery teams.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience as an Electrical Estimator.
• Experience in competitive tendering for M&E projects.

Electrical Estimator

£60,000 + Package

Our client is a leading M&E contractor based in Chelmsford, with an excellent reputation across the commercial sector and a strong pipeline of work.

Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Electrical Estimator to join their commercial team.

The business tenders for projects ranging in value up to £6 million, predominantly across the commercial sector, including Education, Healthcare, Arts & Leisure's, Aviation. They typically work with a strong portfolio of Tier 1 main contractors as well as a number of bespoke end clients.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an Electrical Estimator to join an established and successful contractor, working on a varied range of projects while playing a key role in securing new business.

The Role

As an Electrical Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing competitive and accurate tenders for a range of commercial M&E projects.

Your Responsibilities

• Reviewing tender enquiries, specifications, drawings and associated documentation.
• Preparing detailed electrical estimates and tenders.
• Producing accurate take-offs and bills of quantities.
• Obtaining and analysing supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Liaising with suppliers, subcontractors, clients and main contractors.
• Identifying project risks, opportunities and potential value engineering solutions.
• Ensuring tenders are commercially competitive while maintaining appropriate margins.
• Preparing tender submissions and supporting documentation.
• Working closely with the pre-construction, commercial and operational teams.
• Attending tender meetings and site visits where required.
• Supporting the handover of successful projects to the delivery team.
• Maintaining strong relationships with Tier 1 contractors and end clients.
