Our client is looking to expand their business and is striving for growth. They are seeking to expand their estimating team by hiring an Electrical Estimator. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing estimates for projects ranging from £5 Million to £35 Million.

Main Duties

1. Develop new business opportunities and build client relationships.
2. Produce accurate, detailed estimates and input them into the estimating software currently in use.
3. Work as part of a team while also managing tasks independently, prioritizing workload through effective communication with the estimating team.
4. Technically and commercially appraise all mechanical quotations upon receipt.
5. Collaborate closely with the Buying Department and operations teams during tender, handover, and planning stages of each project.
6. Participate in design development to assess buildability, materials, innovation, and cost-effectiveness of proposals.
7. Provide high-level pricing information early in the tender process for optioneering and budgeting to ensure cost-effective solutions.
8. Prepare schedules for tenders, incorporating feedback from successful contracts and collaborating with other departments.
9. Assist in preparing procurement plans with buyers to select suppliers and subcontractors, and agree on terms, conditions, and discounts.
10. Prepare enquiries and obtain competitive quotations for mechanical engineering resources, especially materials and subcontractors. Obtain completed construction and design questionnaires when appropriate.

Requirements

• Technically competent with a good understanding of mechanical and electrical installation methods and pricing.
• Minimum of 2 years of Electrical Estimating experience, preferably on projects worth over £10M.
• Experience working on large residential projects.
