The Opportunity
Our client, a leading M&E Contractor, is expanding their Leeds office and has created a new opportunity for an experienced Electrical Estimator. The role involves supporting the existing team by overseeing and conducting all aspects of estimating within the department.
The Position
As the Electrical Estimator, you will be responsible for:
- Preparing work to be estimated by gathering proposals, plans, specifications, and related documents.
- Identifying labour, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, plans, specifications, and related documents.
- Compiling costs by analysing labour, material, and time requirements.
- Resolving discrepancies by collecting and analysing information.
- Presenting prepared estimates by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information.
- Preparing special reports by collecting, analysing, and summarising information and trends.
- Maintaining a cost database by entering and backing up data.
- Maintaining a log of all estimates coming into and leaving the business, analysing win/loss rates and reasoning.
- Supporting the business as necessary when requested by Directors or Management.
The Person
- Previous estimating experience, ideally on commercial and healthcare projects.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer-facing skills.
- Good organisational skills.
- Problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work accurately with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using databases, spreadsheets, word processing, and Excel.
Skills and Qualifications
