Electrical Estimator, Cardiff, up to £60,000

Company profile:

Responsibilities:

1. Estimate Preparation & Cost Optimization: Lead the development of competitive cost estimates for large-scale electrical projects, including solar PV, battery storage, EV charging, and maintenance contracts. Conduct site assessments, refine estimates with value engineering, and align bids with project scope and client requirements.
2. Stakeholder & Supplier Management: Build strong relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and manufacturers to secure competitive pricing. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure estimates support project goals while adapting to industry trends and regulatory changes.
3. Leadership & Strategic Support: Mentor junior estimators, participate in contract negotiations, and provide expert input throughout the bidding process. Support project handovers to ensure seamless execution and profitability.

Necessary experience:

1. Experience as an Electrical estimator, ideally within solar or battery storage or EV, but an interest in renewables projects is good too!
2. Mentorship experience, and the ability to guide more junior members of the team.
3. Strong understanding of Electrical design, and proficiency in estimation software.
