First Recruitment Group is recruiting on behalf of a leading engineering services business for a Senior Electrical Estimator in Burton upon Trent. You will lead tender activity, cooperate with commercial and technical teams to deliver competitive bids.

Qualifications

• Electrical background in Building Services / MEP (read drawings, schematics, specs).
• Electrical estimating experience or strong commercial awareness.
• Proficient in MS Word and Excel; full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Act as the main point of contact with clients throughout the bid process.
• Review tender drawings and prepare accurate quantity take-offs.
• Issue enquiries to the supply chain and evaluate returned quotations.
• Build detailed and accurate cost estimates using estimating software.
• Support value engineering and develop innovative bid solutions.
• Identify and manage commercial risk throughout the estimating process.
• Prepare and present bids for internal approval and client submission.
• Produce final tender documentation.
• Support contract reviews, negotiations and governance processes.
• Manage contract terms, warranties and obligations.
• Contribute to commercial strategy and margin improvement.

We are recruiting on behalf of a successful and growing engineering services business seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Estimator to join its team in Burton upon Trent.

Key Responsibilities

About You

We are looking for an experienced electrical professional with:

• Electrical background within Building Services / MEP
• Electrical estimating experience or strong commercial awareness
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and specifications
• Ability to provide high-level design for containment and LV systems where required
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Excellent organisation and attention to detail
• Confidence working across different teams and influencing key stakeholders
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Full UK driving licence

The Opportunity

This position would suit an experienced Electrical Estimator looking to take on a senior role with significant involvement throughout the full tender and bid process.

You’ll have the opportunity to combine your Electrical Building Services knowledge with commercial expertise, influencing bids from initial tender review through to submission, negotiation and contract review.
