Job summary

Argon Engineering Limited in Redditch is recruiting an Electrical Engineering Supervisor for a hands-on supervisory role in a busy manufacturing environment.

The role balances on‑tool electrical work with planning, contractor management, purchasing and ensuring electrical compliance across four sites.

You will supervise electricians, coordinate maintenance and stay audit-ready with accurate records.

Qualifications

  • Strong industrial electrical installation experience.
  • Experience installing distribution boards/panels and final circuits.
  • Electrical maintenance and fault-finding experience.
  • Experience supervising electricians and/or electrical contractors.
  • Understanding of electrical compliance, testing and inspection requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Install new distribution panels and final circuits across production, office and storage areas.
  • Carry out electrical installations, modifications, repairs and remedial works.
  • Manage day-to-day electrical requirements across four sites.
  • Plan and supervise electrical projects, including new builds, office moves and new site installations.
  • Book, coordinate and manage electrical contractors and subcontractors.
  • Supervise electricians and contractors, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to programme.
  • Plan and maintain records for planned maintenance, servicing and testing.
  • Manage EICRs and coordinate remedial works with external contractors.
  • Arrange and monitor annual PAT testing.
  • Coordinate maintenance of emergency generators, transformers and power factor correction equipment.
  • Arrange thermographic surveys and maintain associated reports.
  • Oversee internal and external lighting, including monthly emergency lighting tests.
  • Coordinate fire alarm servicing, fault visits and required isolations.
  • Coordinate servicing and repairs for powered doors, yard barriers and turnstiles.
  • Maintain fire extinguisher records and arrange replacements where required.
  • Ensure electrical maintenance and compliance records remain accurate and audit-ready.
  • Purchase electrical materials and supplies for projects, repairs and ongoing maintenance.

Electrical Engineering Supervisor

Location: Redditch

Salary: £55,000 per annum

Hours: Monday to Friday - Days Only | 8.5 hours per day

The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for an Electrical Engineering Supervisor to join a well-established manufacturing business based in Redditch. This is a hands‑on supervisory position, with around 50% of your time spent on the tools and the remainder focused on planning, organising, contractor management, purchasing and electrical compliance across four sites. The successful candidate will need strong industrial electrical installation experience, alongside electrical maintenance and supervisory capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

About You

The successful candidate will be a hands‑on electrical engineer, electrician or electrical supervisor with experience working within an industrial or manufacturing environment.

Essential experience includes:
  • Strong industrial electrical installation experience.
  • Experience installing distribution boards/panels, final circuits, containment and associated electrical systems.
  • Electrical maintenance and fault-finding experience.
  • Experience working on industrial or manufacturing equipment and facilities.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings.
  • Experience supervising electricians and/or electrical contractors.
  • Understanding of electrical compliance, testing and inspection requirements.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Confident purchasing electrical materials and dealing with external contractors and suppliers.
  • Practical approach with a willingness to remain hands‑on and working on the tools.
