Job summary

ATA Recruitment Ltd is seeking an Electrical Engineering Manager in Monmouthshire to lead a five-person electrical team and take a technical lead on projects. You will write control philosophies, size components, define I/O lists, and specify instruments and PLCs, while mentoring engineers and improving workflows.

The role combines management duties with hands-on design leadership, with agile working options (3 days in office, 2 days at home) and a competitive package.

Qualifications

• Experience running electrical projects.
• Ability to lead and develop engineering teams.
• Experience with control philosophy and P&ID concepts.
• Strong problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a five-person electrical team (two engineers, three design engineers).
• Allocate work, review technical output, mentor team development.
• Lead technically on projects: write control philosophy and sizing calculations.
• Create I/O lists and instrument/electrical hardware specifications.
• Write FAT procedures and liaise with suppliers until delivery at site.
• Occasional travel to control panel manufacturers for witnessing tests.
