Job summary

Walker & Sloan, a leading specialist contractor, is seeking an Electrical Engineering Manager to establish and uphold engineering standards across the organisation. You will lead design reviews, enforce electrical safety and regulatory compliance, mentor technical teams and advise senior management on mission‑critical data centre, defence and energy projects.

This senior role offers genuine authority, autonomy and the opportunity to shape engineering strategy and major electrical infrastructure

Qualifications

• Extensive experience across HV and LV electrical infrastructure, including design, installation, testing and energisation.
• Proven track record delivering complex electrical systems in data centres, defence or energy environments.
• Ability to provide senior technical leadership and engineering assurance across major construction projects.
• Knowledge of electrical safety, regulatory compliance and industry standards.
• Experience developing engineering procedures, governance and QA frameworks.
• Strong leadership and mentoring abilities to influence engineering teams and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership across the company’s electrical engineering activities.
• Review complex electrical designs, assess risks and provide engineering assurance on major projects.
• Develop robust inspection, testing and commissioning procedures with project teams.
• Oversee energisation activities and major electrical interfaces.
• Challenge non-compliant installations and uphold electrical safety and standards.
• Help shape the company’s engineering strategy and governance.
