Job summary

ZEST (UK) LTD in Birmingham is seeking an Electrical Engineering Manager to lead electrical safety, compliance and engineering standards on site. This role is a Monday to Friday days position, offering a challenging environment within a manufacturing operation.

You will oversee fault diagnosis, PLC systems, project execution, and staff authorisations while driving continuous improvement and adherence to site standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in electrical engineering within manufacturing environments.
• Strong knowledge of PLCs and electrical safety standards.
• Ability to lead audits and drive compliance.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist technical support for fault diagnosis and root cause analysis on production machinery.
• Maintain, upgrade and develop PLC control systems and documentation.
• Lead and support electrical engineering projects from installation to commissioning.
• Manage electrical authorisations and competency certification for staff.
• Ensure appropriate skills, training and authorisation levels are maintained.
• Conduct regular electrical audits to ensure safety and site standards.

Electrical Engineering Manager

You will be a technically strong electrical engineering professional with the experience and confidence to take ownership of electrical safety, compliance and engineering standards within a demanding manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide specialist technical support for electrical fault diagnosis, breakdown repairs and root cause analysis across production machinery, wrapping equipment and site services.
• Maintain, upgrade and develop PLC control systems and associated technical documentation.
• Lead and support electrical engineering projects, including installations, modifications, upgrades, development and commissioning.
• Manage electrical authorisations and competency certification for engineering personnel.
• Ensuring appropriate skills, training and authorisation levels are maintained.
• Conduct regular electrical audits to ensure compliance with site standards, specifications and safe working practices.
