Job summary

Stantec in Manchester or Warrington is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our Water team. You will contribute to electrical and EICA design across water and wastewater infrastructure, collaborating with senior engineers and multidisciplinary specialists to deliver safe, sustainable solutions.

This role offers hands-on project experience from feasibility through to construction support, with development opportunities and mentorship in a leading multidisciplinary consultancy.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Experience in electrical engineering design or related technical environment.
  • Understanding of electrical engineering principles and design processes.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

  • Support electrical design activities throughout project lifecycle (feasibility, optioneering, detailed design, construction support).
  • Assist with preparation of technical documentation, specifications, drawings and engineering reports.
  • Support development of EICA solutions meeting client, operational and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineers across disciplines to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Develop understanding of industry standards and best practices through hands-on project experience.

We’re looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our growing Water team in Manchester or Warrington . ABOUT THE ROLE

As an Electrical Engineer, you will support the delivery of electrical and EICA design services across a diverse portfolio of water and wastewater infrastructure projects. Working closely with senior engineers, Project Managers and other technical disciplines, you will contribute to the development of safe, sustainable and effective engineering solutions.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting electrical design activities throughout the project lifecycle, including feasibility studies, optioneering, detailed design and construction support.
  • Assisting with the preparation of technical documentation, specifications, drawings and engineering reports.
  • Supporting the development of EICA solutions that meet client, operational and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborating with engineers across multiple disciplines to deliver integrated project solutions.
  • Developing your understanding of industry standards, design processes and best practice through hands‑on project experience.

You’ll have the opportunity to work on a variety of challenging projects while receiving support and guidance from experienced engineers to help you continue developing your technical skills.

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for an enthusiastic Electrical Engineer who is keen to develop their technical skills and contribute to innovative infrastructure projects.

You will have:

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience within electrical engineering design or a related technical environment.
  • An understanding of electrical engineering principles and design processes.
  • Strong communication and problem‑solving skills.
  • The ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • A proactive approach to learning, development and delivering high‑quality engineering solutions.
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to manage priorities effectively.

Desirable:

  • Experience within the water, utilities, energy or infrastructure sectors.
  • Knowledge of EICA engineering principles.
  • Experience producing technical documentation, drawings or specifications.
  • Working towards professional registration with a relevant institution.
