Job summary
NT Engineering & Manufacturing in Glasgow is seeking an Electrical Engineer to help develop and support electrical systems across their lifecycle. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver safe, compliant, and high-performance solutions.
The role emphasizes CAD work using EPLAN, BOM creation and technical documentation, plus ongoing improvement of safety, reliability and efficiency. You’ll contribute to projects on a global scale within a forward-looking engineering
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience designing and supporting electrical systems in industrial/manufacturing environments.
- Proficiency with CAD software, ideally EPLAN.
- Strong understanding of electrical schematics, control systems, and component selection.
- Experience creating and managing Bills of Materials and technical documentation.
- Knowledge of electrical standards, safety regulations, and best engineering practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Ability to work collaboratively across engineering, manufacturing, and operational teams.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, integrate, validate, and commission electrical systems
- Produce electrical specifications, schematics, wiring diagrams, and test procedures
- Develop and maintain electrical CAD platforms, particularly EPLAN, ensuring accurate and high-quality deliverables
- Create and manage Bills of Materials (BOMs) and part specifications to support efficient manufacturing and assembly
- Provide electrical SME to manufacturing, operations, RCA investigations, and supplier engagement activities
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, reliability, efficiency, and product adaptability
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to required quality standards
- Assist in troubleshooting, testing, and resolving electrical system issues during development and production phases
