Job summary

Randstad CPE is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join a well-established UK firm in Swansea. You will own electrical control system designs from concept through testing and handover, delivering compliant and manufacturable solutions.

Using EPLAN Electric P8 and AutoCAD Electrical, you will produce schematics, panel layouts, BOMs and cable schedules, size cables, select components, and prepare commissioning test documentation for factory and site handover.

Qualifications

Proven experience designing electrical control systems and control panels.
Experience creating full electrical design packs (schematics, panel layouts, BOMs, cable schedules).
Ability to generate commissioning test documentation and compliance procedures.
Knowledge of machinery safety standards and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

Produce and maintain design packs using EPLAN Electric P8 and AutoCAD Electrical.
Specify components, size cables, and protection devices.
Support quotations and assist with project delivery.
Collaborate with workshop, software, and operations teams to ensure designs are manufacturable and on schedule.
Create test sheets and validation procedures for factory testing and site handover.
Provide engineering support for troubleshooting during build and installation.
Ensure all design work meets current machinery and safety standards.
