Job summary

SSE plc is hiring an Electrical Engineer to help design and deliver LV, HV and EHV network projects across new builds and existing infrastructure.

You will produce designs, support feasibility, and perform protective coordination studies while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance. A Degree or HNC in Electrical Engineering is preferred, with UK standards knowledge and CAD skills advantageous.

Qualifications

• Degree or HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience with LV, HV and EHV design and understanding of related standards.
• Awareness of NERS, ENA G81 and DNO/IDNO requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop LV, HV and EHV electrical distribution network designs.
• Produce conceptual to detailed designs in line with standards.
• Support feasibility studies, route assessments and equipment selection.
• Carry out load flow, fault level, voltage drop and protection studies.
• Coordinate earthing, protection, metering and SCADA needs where applicable.
• Ensure CDM and SHE compliance in project delivery.
