Job summary

Electricity North West (ENWL) is seeking a Design Engineer to design and deliver complex LV/HV overhead and underground diversions, reinforcements, asset replacements and refurbishments across the North West power network. You’ll produce approved designs meeting ENWL policies and industry specs, emphasising refurbishment and asset replacement.

You will manage design phases, coordinate design work packages, prepare documentation and liaise with stakeholders to progress activities, ensuring safety

Qualifications

• HNC or equivalent in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience in electrical network planning and design up to 11kV.
• Ability to produce HV/LV network designs and technical specifications.
• Full, valid UK driving licence.
• Willingness to travel to remote sites.

Responsibilities

• Manage the design phase of network investment, reinforcement, maintenance and refurbishment projects.
• Coordinate the delivery of design work packages to ensure projects are completed on time and to the required quality standards.
• Produce and maintain project documentation, including design drawings and technical records where required.
• Analyse asset and network data to develop practical, constructible design solutions.
• Work collaboratively with Design Technicians, Work Planners and other colleagues to prioritise and deliver project outcomes.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to progress project activities.
• Prepare and present project proposals and support the approval process.
• Ensure designs are delivered in line with applicable technical, safety and regulatory requirements.
