Job summary

Rapiscan Systems in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead major Cargo and Handheld product development, guiding from concept through production and sustainment.

You will work within the Cargo & Vehicle Inspection Engineering Team, collaborating with R&D, Product Management, Manufacturing and senior stakeholders to introduce new technologies and deliver successful NPI programmes.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; 5+ years in a technical role.
• Experience leading or overseeing engineering work and design reviews.
• Proven track record on large-scale projects with governance.
• Strong analytical, communication, and time-management skills.
• Willingness to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering activities across Cargo and Handheld product lines.
• Deliver New Product Introduction (NPI) programmes on time and within budget.
• Define requirements, product specifications, and engineering reviews.
• Ensure designs meet performance, quality, and longevity.
• Review and approve technical documentation, testing procedures, and BOMs.
