Electrical Engineer - Battery Storage & Substation Design

Job summary

Mint Selection are partnered with one of the UK's leading renewables IPPs, seeking an Electrical Engineer to join the client’s Engineering team. You’ll design, develop and deliver across BESS projects and substations up to 400kV, with exposure from late-stage development to energisation.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team, act as both Client and Principal Contractor, and participate in design coordination, documentation, and site reviews to ensure timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Knowledge of design and construction of power and energy projects.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management; chartered status (IEng/CEng) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design Co-ordination for one or more projects and lead design coordination meetings.
• Document control for drawings and calculations; manage revisions.
• Communicate design information between contractors and site team; regular site visits.
• Support design development for future battery and gas peaking plants.
• Owners Engineer role: review contractor designs, protection, grid studies.
