Job summary

Breath HR is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support front end and detailed design, ensuring reliable 24/7 power for a new plastics recycling facility. You will oversee electrical infrastructure, installations, and commissioning, coordinating with project teams and subcontractors.

You will lead safety compliance, develop operating procedures, and drive continuous improvement through Lean/Six Sigma initiatives while supporting FAT/SAT and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Professional membership of IEE or equivalent.
• CompEX certification and HV authorised person status.
• Experience in plastics, polymer manufacturing, or recycling process engineering.
• Experience supporting new facility build, commissioning, or start-up projects (especially overseas).
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar CI certification.
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide input during front end and detailed design of the facility's electrical infrastructure, including power distribution, control systems, and routing.
• Specify and influence plant layout, power distribution flows, and equipment selection.
• Manage and oversee electrical installations during construction, ensuring compliance with design specs and standards.
• Participate in HAZOPs and operational readiness plans.
• Collaborate with mechanical, process, C&I and operations teams to integrate electrical systems with plant performance.
• Assist in purchasing, installation, testing and commissioning of electrical equipment.
• Supervise electrical subcontractors and ensure safe work practices.
• Develop electrical operating procedures and support performance guarantee trials.
• Assist with FAT/SAT testing and project handover.
