Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. is seeking an electrical technician to perform planned and reactive maintenance on client sites, take ownership of your working areas, and ensure all work is conducted safely to a high standard.

You will manage contractors and ensure compliance with CBRE UK safety and quality requirements, keeping facilities serviceable and reliable. CBRE UK actively develops people, offering opportunities to progress technically and in leadership roles through diverse sites and projects and

Qualifications

• Level 3 NVQ or equivalent in electrical discipline.
• BS7671 - 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
• Demonstrable electrical experience within a building service/industrial environment.
• Demonstrable experience of positive customer interactions within a service provider contract.
• Great communication, IT and literacy skills.
• Demonstrable evidence of adherence to quality standards and compliance to regulations in a controlled environment (Preferably Pharma).
• Willing to attain Authorised Person LV within probationary period and hold this appointment throughout employment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance to maximise efficiency, availability and reliability of services and facilities.
• Maintain a safety focused, professional attitude; work unsupervised and apply technical skills to meet contract requirements.
• Work to defined safe systems of work, policies and procedures and escalate when something is not right.
• Troubleshoot electrical faults and identify root causes; implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with electrical regulations and safety standards in all activities.
• Provide technical guidance to maintenance staff or apprentices.
• Communicate effectively with customers, supervisors and team members for safe, timely workload completion.
• Take ownership of make-safe isolation requirements and assist in evidence gathering for electrical safety incidents.
• Liaise with Helpdesk and respond to urgent maintenance tasks within contracted timescales.
• Occasionally undertake overtime to support business continuity.

About the Role:

As an electrical technician on our clients’ sites you will be a self-starter, able to initiate, control and complete routine and reactive maintenance to an exceptional standard. You will demonstrate true ownership and stewardship of your working areas, ensuring all works are conducted safely and facilities are serviceable and kept to a very high standard. You will be required to put contractors to work and ensure they comply with the safety and quality standards demanded by CBRE UK.

What You’ll Do:

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance tasks, providing maximum efficiency, availability and reliability of services and facilities.
• Maintain a safety focused, professional attitude to work, able to work unsupervised and apply technical skills required to meet requirements of the contract.
• Work to defined safe systems of work, policies and procedures and have the acumen to stop work when something is not right, **esc**alate** and assist in organising suitable intervention to correct the issue.
• Troubleshoot electrical faults and concerns, identify root causes, and implement
• corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with electrical regulations, and safety standards in all work activities.
• Provide technical support and guidance to other maintenance staff or apprentices.
• Communicate effectively with customers, supervisors, and team members to ensure safe and timely completion of workload.
• Tactical implementation of all ‘make safe’ isolation requirements & initial evidence gathering in electrical safety incidents.
• Provides area ownership of all in scope electrical areas (HV / LV Substations, switch-rooms and apparatus).
• Carry out necessary duties of LV and HV Authorised Person when appointed to do so.
• Liaise with and respond to the Helpdesk ensuring urgent maintenance tasks are responded to within appropriate and contracted timescales.
• To work a reasonable amount of overtime as and when required to facilitate business continuity
  

What You’ll Need:

• Level 3 NVQ or equivalent in electrical discipline
• BS7671 - 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
• Demonstrable electrical experience within a building service &/or industrial environment.
• Demonstrable experience of positive customer interactions within a service provider contract.
• Great communication, IT and literacy skills.
• Demonstrable evidence of adherence to quality standards and compliance to regulations in a controlled / regulated environment (Preferably Pharma).
• Willing to attain Authorised Person LV within probationary period and hold this appointment throughout employment (AP appointment is a requirement of the role and attracts an additional related payment).

Desirable:

• C&G 2391-52 Inspection & Testing.
• HV/LV AP or working towards with a desire to progress to this level and beyond.
• IEng or working towards. This role will provide ample opportunity for evidence for professional accreditation and development.
• Demonstrable experience of involvement or leading continuous improvement initiatives.
