Job description

KierBAM is a Joint Venture (KBJV) partnership between Kier and Bam Nuttall. We are currently delivering a redevelopment project at a Royal Navy site in Plymouth and are seeking an Electrical Engineer.

Due to the site being a high-security military naval base, additional security checks are required – BPSS level security clearance is necessary. These checks can take up to 8 weeks. Only candidates holding EU, NATO, 5 Eyes, or MISWG member passports and who have been UK residents for the last 5 years will be considered.

Location: Devonport Dockyard, Plymouth

Hours: Permanent, Full Time

Salary: Competitive Salary + Car Allowance, Subsistence packages available if requirements are met

Responsibilities of an Electrical Engineer

As an Electrical Engineer, you will work within the Devonport Nuclear team, supporting safe procurement, planning, and execution of works in accordance with project requirements and UK law.

Your Day-to-Day Will Include
  • Ensuring all works are procured, planned, and carried out safely, complying with project requirements and UK law.
  • Managing successful project completion within quality, time, and cost targets, ensuring design and installation meet specifications and statutory requirements.
  • Providing leadership within your team, setting expectations, guiding, and giving feedback to optimize performance.
  • Contributing to risk and opportunity identification, supporting mitigation or enhancement efforts within your control.
  • Understanding budgets and commercial priorities, making sound decisions, and managing your workload aligned with project goals.
What Are We Looking For?

This role is ideal if you have:

  • Civil Engineering-related qualification (HNC, BSc, MSc, BEng, MEng).
  • Experience with electrical equipment procurement and vendor management.
  • Experience in a similar role, preferably in sectors like Nuclear or Defence.
  • CSCS - White PQP/AQP.
