Job summary

Adecco is seeking an Electrical Engineer for a permanent, shift-based role in Peterborough. You will maintain and optimise electrical systems across the site, ensuring production runs smoothly and safety standards are met.

You will work with a team of engineers to fault-find, repair, install and modify equipment, and to update PLC software. The role emphasises continuous improvement, with a focus on reliability and efficiency across high-speed manufacturing processes.

Qualifications

• A Level 3 Apprenticeship (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronic Engineering with an electrical bias.
• Experience in high-speed manufacturing environments, knowledge of fault-finding techniques and basic programming, and experience with Allen Bradley PLCs.
• Proactive and technically skilled with a strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and optimise electrical systems across the plant to minimise production disruption and ensure safety standards.
• Fault-finding, repairs, installation and modification of equipment to keep the production line running at peak performance.
• Analyse line performance, update PLC software, and support continuous improvement initiatives to maximise output and reliability.

Role - Electrical Engineer

Contract Type - Permanent

Working Pattern - Shift-based, site-based role (4 on 4 off)

Salary - £57,089 (inclusive of shift allowance)

Start Date - ASAP

The Opportunity

In this hands‑on technical role, you'll be responsible for maintaining and optimising electrical systems across the plant, ensuring minimal disruption to production and full compliance with safety standards.

You will work closely with our team of engineers to resolve and implement innovative solutions that improve efficiency and performance. From fault‑finding and repairs to installation and modification of equipment, you'll keep the production line running at peak performance.

This role also involves analysing line performance, updating PLC software, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to maximise output and reliability.
