Job summary

Pioneer Selection Ltd. is recruiting an Electrical Maintenance Engineer in Whitefield, Manchester. The role covers electrical maintenance, fault-finding, and both planned and reactive maintenance on production machinery.

You will work on electrical control systems, motors, sensors, drives, PLC-controlled equipment and control panels, supporting continuous improvements and uptime in a busy food manufacturing setting. Requires electrical qualification and manufacturing experience.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on electrical fault-finding experience.
  • Experience working with industrial production machinery.
  • Experience with motors, sensors, contactors, relays, inverters/VSDs and control panels.
  • Experience working with PLC-controlled equipment and electrical control systems.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out electrical maintenance across a range of production machinery and automated equipment.
  • Perform planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown maintenance.
  • Support ongoing engineering improvements across the site.

ELECTRICAL MAINTENANCE ENGINEER

Job Title: Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Location: Whitefield, Manchester

Salary: £55,000

Shift: 4 on 4 off Days and Nights (2D2N)

Job Role of the Electrical Maintenance Engineer

A fantastic opportunity which is not to be missed by a strong Electrical Maintenance Engineer has come to the forefront. This is a great opportunity to join an established and growing food manufacturing business, working within a busy, fast-paced production environment.

The site has a strong focus on engineering excellence, reliability and continuous improvement, making this a great opportunity for an engineer looking to develop their technical skills and progress their career.

You will be responsible for carrying out electrical maintenance, fault-finding, planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown maintenance across a range of production machinery and automated equipment, ensuring maximum uptime and efficiency.

You will also have the opportunity to work on electrical control systems, motors, sensors, drives, PLC-controlled machinery and control panels, whilst supporting ongoing engineering improvements across the site.

Sector – Food Manufacturing / Factory Maintenance
Non-Negotiable Requirements of the Electrical Maintenance Engineer
  • Electrical maintenance experience within an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on experience with planned, reactive and breakdown maintenance in a fast-paced factory environment.
  • Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic experience.
  • Recognised electrical engineering qualification.
Requirements for the Electrical Maintenance Engineer
  • Hands-on electrical fault-finding experience.
  • Experience working with industrial production machinery.
  • Experience with motors, sensors, contactors, relays, inverters/VSDs and control panels.
  • Experience working with PLC-controlled equipment and electrical control systems.
  • Experience carrying out planned preventative maintenance.
  • Recognised electrical engineering qualification such as NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, ONC/HNC or equivalent.
  • Experience working within a manufacturing, FMCG, food production or similar industrial environment.
  • Good understanding of electrical safety and safe isolation procedures.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a practical, hands-on approach.
Desirable Requirements of the Electrical Maintenance Engineer
  • Experience working as a Maintenance Engineer in the UK.
  • Previous experience within food manufacturing or FMCG.
  • PLC fault-finding experience.
  • Experience with continuous improvement and root-cause analysis.
  • Mechanical maintenance experience would be advantageous.
