Glennon Brothers in the United Kingdom and Ireland is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support safe and reliable maintenance across site operations. You will handle planned and reactive electrical work, ensuring compliance with safety standards and efficient fault resolution, while improving plant reliability.

Qualifications

  • Time-served electrical qualification with relevant trade certification/apprenticeship.
  • Experience in industrial/manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of motors, drives, PLCs, instrumentation and automation interfaces.
  • Understanding of electrical safety standards and permit-to-work systems.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and documentation.
  • Experience with preventative maintenance and fault-finding in live production.
  • Strong troubleshooting and practical hands-on approach.

Responsibilities

  • Promote and enforce a strong safety culture.
  • Support day-to-day maintenance team activities.
  • Perform tasks to ensure efficient use of resources and minimal production disruption.
  • Provide hands-on fault diagnosis and rectification of issues to reduce downtime.
  • Contribute to preventative maintenance activities and reliability improvements.
  • Complete documentation, permits, inspections and records.
  • Support plant upgrades, projects, installations and commissioning of new or modified systems.
  • Identify recurring faults and lead root cause analysis and improvement actions.
  • Communicate effectively with operations, mechanical, automation and engineering teams.
  • Follow all company policies, procedures and standards at all times.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Electrical Engineer is responsible for supporting the safe, effective and compliant operation of maintenance work and improvement activities across site operations.

The role provides hands‑on technical support ensuring planned and reactive electrical work is completed safely, efficiently and to required standards, while supporting plant reliability and continuous improvement. The Electrical Engineer acts as a key interface between operations and maintenance providing high standards of electrical safety and performance.

Knowledge & Experience
  • – Time‑served Electrical qualification with relevant trade certification and/or apprenticeship.
  • – Proven experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • – Strong knowledge of electrical systems including motors, drives, PLC‑controlled equipment, instrumentation and automation interfaces.
  • – Extensive understanding of electrical safety standards, lock‑out/tag‑out and permit‑to‑work systems.
  • – Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, drawings and technical documentation.
  • – Experience supporting preventative maintenance programmes and fault‑finding in live production environments.
  • – Strong troubleshooting and decision‑making skills with a practical, hands‑on approach.
