Job summary

Allstaff Engineering Division in Glasgow is looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead maintenance and engineering across the site. The role supports continuous improvement in equipment reliability, efficiency and performance, with a focus on safe, compliant operation.

You will diagnose faults, perform preventative maintenance, and collaborate with production teams to minimise downtime while handling on-call shifts and flexible hours.

Qualifications

• Time-served engineer with a recognised engineering qualification preferred.
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills.
• Experience within food manufacturing or FMCG preferred.
• Proactive, practical and solutions-focused approach.
• Able to work effectively under pressure and respond to production priorities.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexible approach to working outside core hours when required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic faults.
• Minimise downtime through effective fault finding and root cause analysis.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance.
• Support machinery installations, upgrades and improvement projects.
• Work with production teams to improve equipment reliability and efficiency.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
• Support food safety, hygiene, HACCP and health and safety standards.
• Liaise with contractors and suppliers where required.

Job description

Allstaff Engineering Division are delighted to bring to the market the role of Electrical Engineer for well established company in Glasgow. Details: Hours: 40 hours per week. Sunday to Thursday, 12:30pm – 9:00pm (30-minute unpaid break and 20-minute paid break). On-call: One in every three weeks required to do on-call Friday and Saturday night. Overtime: Opportunities available on Saturdays. Flexibility: Required to cover early shift and dayshift during holidays and operational requirements.

Role Purpose

The successful candidate will be a competent and proactive Multi Skilled Electrical Engineer who will take ownership of the maintenance and engineering function across the production site. This is a key role for someone who is passionate about operational excellence, eager to make a tangible impact, and motivated by the opportunity to improve equipment reliability, efficiency, and performance.
