Job summary

First Military Recruitment Ltd is seeking an Electrical Engineer in Deeside, Flintshire, to repair and overhaul electronic and electro‑mechanical equipment within legislative and organisational standards.

Responsibilities include diagnostics, repair, calibration and manufacture to module level, plus supervision of juniors and collaboration with internal/external stakeholders. You will work onsite on a 6-month contract with a 5-day week schedule.

Qualifications

• Holds Level 4 qualification or Level 3 with an electrical/electronic apprenticeship or military equivalent.
• Practical engineering experience in relevant discipline.

Responsibilities

• Perform self-directed testing, diagnostics, repair, maintenance, modification, calibration and manufacture of equipment down to module/component level using approved documentation.
• Hold self-certification, over-signing, certifying and conditioning of equipment responsibilities.
• Supervision and training of junior staff and apprentices.
• Carry out feasibility and development activity, including reverse engineering and creation of supporting documentation/test procedures.
• Use MOD IT software where required.
• Provide specialist advice and work within governance frameworks.

Location: Deeside, Flintshire.
Salary: Hourly rate.
IR35: In scope.
Working Hours: 5 days a week onsite.Working hours start between 7am to 9am and finish between 3:30pm to 6pm. A work pattern will be agreed onsite with the line manager.
Contract Length: 6-months.

Overview:

The successful candidate'srole will include the repair and overhaul of Electronic and Electro-mechanical equipment in a timely and efficient manner whilst complying with legislative and organisational standards.

The role will cover the following:

• Avionics systems.
• Communications Systems.
• Navigation Systems.
• Cable and Test Box manufacture.

• Perform self-directed Test; Diagnostics; Repair; Maintenance; Modification; Calibration and Manufacture of Equipment down to module / individual Component level using approved Engineering Documentation and techniques.
• Hold Self-Certification; Over-Signing; Certifying & Conditioning of Equipment Responsibilities (for example: Serviceable / Unserviceable / Scrap).
• Supervision; Training and Over-Signing of Junior / Equivalent grade Staff & Apprentices.
• Carry out Feasibility and Development activity, including the Reverse Engineering and Creation of supporting engineering documentation / Test Procedures.
• Use a combination of different MOD IT software.
• Provide Specialist Advice as required.
• Work within a scheme of Engineering Governance and comply with all.
