Job summary

Veolia is seeking a field-based engineer for nationwide coverage, primarily on sewage treatment sites. The role involves 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with travel across multiple sites and potential overnight stays.

You will perform scheduled maintenance, troubleshoot equipment, and ensure documentation and CMMS data are current, while complying with Veolia EHS rules and GMP standards. A flexible, safety-focused engineer is required.

Qualifications

  • City & Guilds Level 3 Electrical Installation or NVQ Level 3 certification.
  • Current City & Guilds 2391 Inspection and Testing certification.
  • 18th Edition BS 7671 Wiring Regulations certification.
  • Knowledge of pumps, HVAC systems, boilers and chillers.
  • Ability to read P&ID drawings and electrical schematics.
  • Experience with SOPs and GMP engineering systems.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out work as per schedule supplied by the Services Manager or Supervisor.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and follow site directions.
  • Perform risk assessments of equipment maintenance task lists.
  • Update maintenance task lists and site documentation.
  • Review EWI/SOP to ensure current and valid documentation.
  • Comply with site EHS and Veolia EHS rules.
  • Work across buildings, accommodate shutdowns, and follow GMP/Regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in audits of mechanical and electrical plant rooms and close actions.
  • Ensure CMMS has up-to-date equipment data, spares and hours.
  • Travel nationwide; field-based, mainly on sewage treatment sites; may stay away from home.

What you’ll be doing;
  • Carry out work as per schedule supplied by the Services Manager or Supervisor and as per site policies, schedules and procedures.
  • Troubleshoot problems with equipment as necessary, and as directed by site supervisors.
  • Carry out Risk Assessment of Equipment Maintenance Task Lists and ensure these are always kept valid.
  • Update maintenance task list and site documentation as appropriate.
  • Carry out Periodic reviews of EWI/SOP to ensure documents are always current and valid.
  • All work on site to be carried out in accordance with site EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) and Veolia EHS rules and guidelines.
  • Flexibility to work on equipment in all buildings, work around Maintenance Shutdowns and be familiar with GMP rules and Statutory requirements.
  • Participate in Audits of the Mechanical and Electrical plant rooms and follow up on actions.
  • Ensure that the CMMS system contains the most up to date information regarding equipment data, spares and maintenance man-hours.
  • This is a field-based role with nationwide coverage, requiring travel across multiple sites, with the majority of work being carried out on sewage treatment sites.
  • Be prepared to stay away from home when required to support operational needs.
  • Participate in a periodic call-out rota providing 24/7 coverage for one week at a time.
What we’re looking for;
  • City & Guilds Level 3 Electrical Installation (2365) or equivalent NVQ Level 3
  • City & Guilds 2391 Inspection and Testing certification (current and valid)
  • 18th Edition BS 7671 Wiring Regulations certification
  • Understanding of Pumps, HVAC Systems, Compressors, Boilers, steam systems and ancillary services, (DHW skids), Chillers, Cooling Towers, Clean steam Boilers, Purified Water Systems.
  • Ability to read and understand P&ID’s/electrical drawings
  • Understanding of SOP’s and GMP Engineering systems.
