Electrical Package Manager – Data Centre Project

About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Electrical Package Manager to join a major international data centre construction project in Blyth, UK.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the delivery of the electrical package from construction through to completion, ensuring that all works are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the required quality standards.
This is a key site-based position working as part of a multidisciplinary project team, coordinating electrical subcontractors, specialist contractors, engineers and commissioning teams throughout the construction lifecycle.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience managing electrical packages on data centre, pharmaceutical, semiconductor, industrial, mission-critical or other large-scale complex construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Take overall responsibility for the day-to-day management and delivery of the electrical package on site.
- Manage electrical subcontractors and specialist contractors, ensuring works are progressing in accordance with the project programme.
- Coordinate electrical installation activities with the wider construction, mechanical, CSA, commissioning and project teams.
- Review electrical drawings, specifications, technical submissions and installation requirements.
- Ensure all electrical works are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements and project requirements.
- Monitor progress against programme milestones and identify potential delays or constraints at an early stage.
- Attend and lead coordination meetings with subcontractors, engineering teams and project management.
- Coordinate interfaces between electrical systems and other disciplines to ensure smooth installation and commissioning.
- Monitor manpower, materials, plant and equipment requirements for the electrical package.
- Liaise with procurement and commercial teams regarding materials, deliveries, subcontractor requirements and variations.
- Review subcontractor progress and ensure works are completed in line with agreed schedules.
- Support the project team with planning, sequencing and resource requirements.
- Ensure all electrical installations meet the required quality standards and relevant legislation.
- Work closely with the Quality team to ensure inspection and test plans, inspections and documentation are completed.
- Coordinate testing, pre-commissioning and commissioning activities with the relevant teams.
- Monitor snagging, punch-list and close-out activities through to completion.
- Ensure all project documentation, test certificates, inspection records and handover documentation are completed correctly.
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with site health and safety procedures.
- Identify risks and issues affecting electrical delivery and implement appropriate corrective actions.
- Provide regular progress updates to the Project Manager and wider management team.
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience as an Electrical Package Manager, Electrical Construction Manager, Electrical Project Manager, Electrical Site Manager or similar senior electrical construction position.
- Significant experience delivering electrical packages on large-scale construction projects.
- Strong data centre / mission-critical experience is highly desirable.
- Experience working on pharmaceutical, semiconductor, industrial or other complex technical projects will also be considered.
- Strong understanding of electrical construction, installation, testing and commissioning processes.
- Experience managing electrical subcontractors and site teams.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
- Strong understanding of project programmes, sequencing and construction methodology.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure construction environment.
- Strong focus on health & safety and quality.
- Previous experience working on international projects is advantageous.
