Job summary

Hargreaves Industrial Services Limited is seeking an Electrical Engineer to lead cradle-to-grave electrical and control system design for turnkey contracts. The role covers ELV/LV/MV works, vendor liaison, and safety-compliant execution across industrial plants.

Requirements include 5+ years post-qualification experience, 18th Edition, and valid UK driving licence. The team delivers design, build, and EPC services across the UK, with a permanent, full-time role.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years post-qualification experience in design and construction of industrial plants.
• 18th Edition
• HND (desirable)
• Level 3 NVQ Electrical qualification
• DSEAR qualification (desirable)
• Strong communication skills at all levels
• Knowledge and experience of power systems up to 11kV (desirable)
• Knowledge of Integrated Control and Safety Systems (ICSS)
• Understanding of current electrical and health and safety regulations
• Strong IT skills
• Hold UK Driving Licence

Responsibilities

• Oversee design, manufacture, installation and commissioning of electrical and control systems for turnkey/multi-disciplinary contracts.
• Electrical system design on ELV, LV & MV works.
• Competence in AutoCAD and AMTECH.
• Write electrical specifications.
• Liaise with Mechanical team.
• Technical evaluation of supplier proposals for quality and cost.
• Integrate third‑party equipment into overall system design.
• Review vendor documentation for compliance with specs.
• Provide tendering and estimation support to the Business Development team.
• Support Project Planning and Commercial Management.
• Ensure compliance with Contract Quality Plans.
• Develop and implement ITPs for electrical installations.
• Develop Health & Safety Plans for electrical work.
• Conduct risk assessments for electrical hazards.
• Ensure adherence to industry safety standards.
• Client and stakeholder engagement.
• Post contract documentation and handovers.
• Producing technical reports.

A vacancy has arisen for an Electrical Engineer to join our Engineering team.

The role of Electrical Engineer exists to provide cradle to grave responsibility for overseeing the design, manufacture installation and commissioning of electrical and control engineering aspects of turnkey/multi-disciplinary contracts.

The role briefly encompasses the following duties:

• Electrical system design on ELV, LV & MV works
• Be competent in Auto CAD and AMTECH software
• Be competent in writing electrical specifications
• Liaise with Mechanical team
• Technical evaluation of supplier proposals to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.
• Integration of third-party equipment into the overall system design.
• Vendor document review and approval to ensure adherence to project specifications
• Provide tendering and estimation support to the Business Development team.
• Support Project Planning and Commercial Management teams.
• Ensure compliance with Contract Quality Plans to meet client and regulatory requirements.
• Develop and implement Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) for electrical installations.
• Develop Health & Safety Plans for electrical work.
• Conduct risk assessments for electrical hazards.
• Ensure adherence to industry safety standards
• Client and stakeholder engagement.
• Post contract documentation and handovers.
• Producing technical reports.
• Ensuring regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills/experience/ attributes:

• A qualified electrical engineer with a minimum of 5 years post qualification experience in the design and construction of industrial plants
• 18th Edition
• HND (desirable)
• Level 3 NVQ Electrical qualification
• DSEAR qualified (desirable)
• Strong communication skills at all levels
• Knowledge and experience of power systems up to 11kV (desirable)
• Knowledge and experience of Integrated Control and Safety Systems (ICSS)
• Understanding of current legislation and practice relating to electrical and health and safety
• Strong IT skills
• Hold UK Driving Licence
